The Happy Hormones Club Holiday Gift Guide

Christmas is nearly upon us, and if you’re not sure what to treat your gal pals to this year, I’ve got you covered…

More than ever, we’re feeling the impact of our surroundings and lifestyle habits. It is time to invest in our hormone and menstrual health.

Know someone who is craving more balance? What better way to show your support, than a cycle friendly pressie!

To give someone a head start in making 2024 their year of balance and smooth sailing cycles, check out my top 10 gifts below!

1.Electric Essential Oil Diffuser

Essential oils are known to reduce stress, improve sleep and relieve pain.

I got mine from Oliver Bonas. Classic and stylish, different time settings, gorgeous colours - delightful.

For PMDD or PMS purchase with any of the following;

  • Chamomile

  • Clary Sage

  • Lavender

  • Peppermint

  • Ylang Ylang

  • Rose

Or a PMS friendly blend like this one from Neil’s Yard.

2.Decaf Coffee or Coffee Subscription

The thought of giving up caffeine might give your buddy nightmares, but it can really change the game when it comes to severe premenstrual symptoms - especially when struggling with anxiety related symptoms.

It doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, not when there’s some very sexy coffee brands on the high street…

I like this one from Grind (it’s sustainable too!)

Or if you’re feeling extra generous, treat them to a coffee subscription, like this one from Origin Coffee. Right now you can get 40% off your first three subscription sends with code DEC40.

3.PMDD in Relationships Workbook

The ups and downs of the PMDD or PMS rollercoaster can be exhausting. Sometimes we need a bit of support with navigating it at home.

My eBook: Navigating PMDD Together includes a 7 step strategy for support and understanding within relationships, as well as handy communication techniques. It’s a tried and tested process (by me!) and is only £5.99

4.Acupuncture Voucher

Research suggests that acupuncture can be effective in relieving PMS symptoms, helping to relieve painful cramps but also reduce mood swings.

Find your local provider and grab a gift voucher (it’s supporting small businesses too!)

5.Journal

Give the gift of journaling. Whether they are a professional journal-er, or have never done it before, it’s been proven to improve mental health. It’s also a great way to track symptoms and how they change over time.

Try Papier for extra special journals

6.Non Toxic Cookware

Now you might be thinking - HUH? But bear with me. You might not think pots and pans could be a concern, but unfortunately many of them are. Yes, I know, the world is against us!

The main issue is that a lot of them are coated in chemicals that mimic estrogen in the body. BPA’s are often used to coat cookware, and they have been linked to endocrine disorders like PMDD as well as infertility and PCOS.

So what’s the solution? Go for cast iron dishes, ceramic or stainless steel.

I’ve added this John Lewis Cast Iron Dish to my list for Santa. Hob and oven safe, and very stylish!

7.Balance Drink Powders

Nutrition is SO important when it comes to healthy hormones.

Putting the right nutrients into our bodies can help fight off pesky symptoms, but it can feel overwhelming trying to get everything in to daily meals.

Balance tonics to the rescue! No need to stress when it’s as easy as a heaped spoon into one handy drink.

My fave -
Rheal Balance Tonic!

8.Non Plastic Water Bottle

We all LOVE a reusable water bottle. Great for the environment AND for reminding us that hydration is cool.

However, your plastic water bottles could be doing you harm. Just like cookware, the chemicals in your plastic water bottles have been linked to various hormone disorders, infertility and even breast cancer.

Try a glass or 100% plastic free stainless steel option, like this one from Everyday Green -

9.Home Pilates Set

For your fitness focused friends.

When we get to our luteal phase, it’s important to give our body what it needs, and this may mean slowing it down when it comes to intense HIIT workouts.

Pilates is a perfect practice for luteal phase fitness - it improves strength, flexibility and doesn’t put stress on the body (that could negatively impact symptoms!)

This set from Argos is so reasonably priced and has everything you need

10.Positive Affirmation Cards

Perfect or a Secret Santa or Stocking Filler.

Sometimes we need a bit of help to shift our mindset and lift our mood. Affirmation cards can be a savior for a (mentally) rainy day. Need any other reason to get them? Remember, your pal with think of you with great joy every time they read one. How lovely!

Check out these funky ones from The Positive Planner

So…Here’s to a balanced 2024 for all. Happy Shopping guys!
